The Cigar Captain recently reviewed the Artesanos Retro Especiale and gave it flying colors. Said Marty Klausmeier, the reviewer “…the La Gloria Cubana Artesanos Retro Especiale Club is a reasonably priced grand corona. At this price point, I can’t think of too many other cigars that I would place above the LGC.”

Said the review “The cigar provides the smoker everything you would want. Its flavor is fairly complex and the burn was near perfect, requiring little maintenance. Though generally full flavored, it was far from harsh and fairly smooth in its finish.” Read the full review here

Cigar Tasting Goes Virtual
Team La Gloria Cubana gives Serie N cigar its day, on the Internet.

“RICHMOND, Va.–If you have questions about a cigar, you might turn to the Internet. But what if you could ask the manufacturer those questions, while you’re smoking that cigar in another part of the country?
That’s part of the premise behind Serie N Day, a virtual cigar tasting being put on by Team La Gloria Cubana.
The event, on Friday, March 25th, includes a virtual tasting broadcast from the El Credito Cigar Factory in Miami’s Little Havana district, where the Serie N cigars are made. Live streaming video of the tasting will be available beginning at 6 p.m. on the Team La Gloria Web site, and will move around the country with additional interactive broadcasts at 6 p.m. central and 6 p.m. pacific times. Participating retailers are located in Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois, New Mexico and Texas.”
